Apple Dinner with Chanterelles
serves 4
1/2 onion, chopped
1 cup chopped chanterelles
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 pound sausage (optional)
4 apples, cored and sliced
salt to taste
a pinch of nutmeg
Saute the onions and mushrooms in the butter until they soften, then add the sausage and cook until the sausage is close to done. Add the apples, and put a lid on the pan. Stir occasionally until the apples are soft. Season and serve.
