I'm at the Telluride Mushroom Festival to do a book signing Sat. evening at 9 p.m. Come on by if you're in the area. It will be at the Opera House. This is definately a wild wild mushroom festival. I got to play a part in a myco-themed play based on King Lear, written by Gary Lincoff. It's been raining off and on since I've been here--it's a good mushroom year here. I've learned how to train my dog to find truffles, and a number of techniques for growing wild mushrooms, including capturing wild oyster mushrooms and growing them on old newspapers. I tasted a chaga stout, a reishi red beer, and a turkey tail and red belted conk wheat ale. I've also sampled several kombuchas with mushrooms added. I highly recommend this festival to anyone who is into mushrooms and can afford it.
